Words Of Men Or Words Of God?, Uniqueness Of Jesus, The
Importance Of Memorizing The Word, Scriptures On Salvation,
Jesus Is Our Only Mediator, False Christs And Messiahs

In the world, it is a common practice to immortalize the
words of any individual who is deemed by his peers to have
made some important contribution to society. Whether he is a
dedicated scientist, wise philosopher, spiritual leader,
astute politician, military hero or social reformer, his
words will be found in a history book, or on a plaque, or at
the base of a statue dedicated to his honor, or perhaps on a
monument or some other place where men will praise his
wisdom, or his discovery, or whatever his contribution might
have been for years to come. Sadly, while humanity is so
quick to elevate the words of mere mortal men, many people
today have totally forgotten and ignore the wonderful truths
found in the most famous, the most endearing, and the
widest-read Book of all ages. That, of course, is none other
than the Bible. God's Word is so important to Him, that in
the Book of Psalms, King David tells us that the Lord has
magnified His Word above His very name:

"I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name
for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast
magnified thy word above all thy name." (Psalms 138:2)

While man likes to brag about the great personages who have
influenced the course of world events over the past six
thousand years, he haughtily ignores the Holy Bible which
tells the story of one Man who was and is the greatest
Prophet, Shepherd and King who has ever lived. Naturally, I
am speaking of none other than Jesus Christ, the very Son of
God. This Jesus is unique, and stands head and shoulders
above every other man who has ever lived; for He alone did
what no other man could ever do; He willingly and lovingly
sacrificed His very life so that we might obtain Eternal
Salvation through faith in His Name.

Once a person does accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and
Saviour, one of the devil's favorite tactics is to condemn
him for wrong things that he has done; and to try to
convince him that God doesn't really love him, and that he
is not really saved. The only way to rid one self of these
doubts and lies of the enemy is by reading, studying, and in
fact, even memorizing the Word of God; particularly verses
which deal with Salvation. In another Psalm, King David
wrote the following:

"Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin
against thee." (Psalms 119:11)

If you would like to see how much David loved the Word of
the Lord, I encourage you to read this Psalm in its
entirety. It is very inspiring. While people of the world
like to say 'An apple a day keeps the doctor away', we
Christians can say 'A verse a day keeps the doubts away';
for as the Apostle Paul wrote in his Epistle to the Church
at Rome:

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of
God." (Romans 10:17)

With that in mind, I have put together the following
collection of thirty-one of my favorite verses on the topic
of Salvation. I hope that they will not only strengthen your
faith in Jesus Christ, but that they will also assist you in
bringing others to know the One True Shepherd of God's
Kingdom as well:

"And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men
unto me." (John 12:32)

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men
count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not
willing that any should perish, but that all should come to
repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)

"And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even
eternal life." (1 John 2:25)

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any
man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)

"Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down
his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the
brethren." (1 John 3:16)

"And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one
another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."
(Ephesians 4:32)

"And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal
life, and this life is in his Son." (1 John 5:11)

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;
who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,
despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of
the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:2)

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the
name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have
eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son
of God." (1 John 5:13)

"For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are
all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the
captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings."
(Hebrews 2:10)

"And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou
shalt be saved, and thy house." (Acts 16:31)

"Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is
passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold
fast our profession." (Hebrews 4:14)

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none
other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be
saved." (Acts 4:12)

"And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the
world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because
their deeds were evil." (John 3:19)

"And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal
salvation unto all them that obey him;" (Hebrews 5:9)

"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to
become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his
name:" (John 1:12)

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we
were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never
perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."
(John 10:28)

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him
from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9)

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the
life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
(John 14:6)

"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and
with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
(Romans 10:10)

"As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should
give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him."
(John 17:2)

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but
according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of
regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;" (Titus 3:5)

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but
have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

"All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him
that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out."
(John 6:37)

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my
voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will
sup with him, and he with me." (Revelation 3:20)

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is
eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

"For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the
world; but that the world through him might be saved."
(John 3:17)

"In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie,
promised before the world began;" (Titus 1:2)

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
(Romans 3:23)

"He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that
believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not
believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
(John 3:18)

As the above verses clearly demonstrate, Jesus is the Author
of Eternal Life; He is the Captain of our Salvation; and He
is our eternal High Priest. There is none other like Him. He
is the only one Who has ever died on the Cross for the sins
of the world. Other so-called spiritual leaders and wise
philosophers have come and gone, preaching their dry wisdom
and vain philosophies of men; but none of them preached the
Kingdom of God, or made the Ultimate Sacrifice on the Cross
like Jesus Christ. As such, unless these self-styled gurus
and holy men are pointing you to Jesus Christ, they cannot
possibly claim to possess the way to Eternal Salvation. As
the Apostle Paul tells us, Jesus is the only Mediator
between God and man:

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to
be testified in due time." (1 Timothy 2:5-6)

Jesus alone merits this title because He shed His innocent
Blood on the Cross like no other before or after Him.
Consider what the Lord said:

"All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but
the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man
enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and
find pasture." (John 10:8-9)

"Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or
there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs,
and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders;
insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the
very elect." Matthew 24:23-24)

In the above two verses, Jesus tells us very clearly that
anyone who came before Him, or who might come after Him
claiming to be the Christ or Messiah, is a liar; and in
these End Times we have already seen quite a few of them.
Consider such demon-inspired false messiahs as Lord
Maitreya, the Reverend Sung Myung Moon of the Unification
Church, and the now-deceased Marshall Applewhite of the
Heaven's Gate UFO cult. All of these men claim or claimed to
be the Endtime manifestation of the Messiah. Don't you be
deceived by such liars and imitators! If someone comes to
you and tries to tell you that they have found the Messiah,
don't you believe them for a minute! Believe me, what we
have seen so far is nothing compared to what may be
happening in the near future. Just wait until Satan pulls
out all the plugs, and his false messengers really begin
doing their so-called 'miracles'! I discuss all of these
things more at length in some of my Endtime articles, which
I hope you will read.

Again, the very best way to protect yourself against the
doubts and lies of Satan is by reading and memorizing God's
Word on a regular basis. The Patriarch Job was so hungry for
the Word of God that he wrote the following:

"Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips;
I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my
necessary food." (Job 23:12)

Do you hunger after God's Word that much? I certainly hope
so. It is food for the soul! Please start memorizing it
soon! Have you accepted Jesus Christ into your life? It's
not too late! Won't you please do it today? I trust that
this message has been a blessing and an inspiration in your
