In speaking to the ancient Jews, Jesus said: "And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?" Luke 6:46, KJV He also said: "...The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not." Matthew 23:2,3, KJV The Apostle James also wrote: "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." James 1:22, KJV There is also a lot of hypocrisy amongst modern-day Christians who, as James writes, deceive themselves into thinking that they are Christians, when they are not. The Lord will surely judge each of us according to His word. However, despite the failure of some Christians to be the examples that they should be, that still does not change the fact that God's Word is true, that we are all sinners in need of a Saviour, and that Jesus Christ died for our sins. Those who point to the hypocrisy of some Christians, are merely looking for an excuse in order to justify their rejection of God's Word; but God won't accept it. His Word is still true, and such people will be judged by it if they foolishly reject its truth. From another angle; does everyone in your country obey the constitution of your country? Of course not. Does this fact invalidate that constitution? Of course not. Why then do some enemies of Christ try to invalidate God's Body of Laws, His Contract with humanity, that is, the Bible, by pointing to those who fail to live it fully as they should?
