Endtime Prophecy Net - Bible Tidbits

While the WordWeaver has never listened to music by Kurt Cobain, the impression he has received from the lyrics to some of Cobain's songs, as well as from the way some of the young people refer to Cobain as 'a god', is that this man is not having a positive influence on the younger generation. In judging any kind of music, a Christian should take into consideration such verses as the following: "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Philippians 4:8, KJV As well as: "For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints." 1 Corinthians 14:33, KJV Is the song positive, or is it dark and forboding? Do the lyrics uplift the Lord and the truth of His Word in any way? Can you even clearly hear the words? If it meets Paul's requirements, then it may be okay; but if not, watch out!
