Endtime Prophecy Net - Bible Tidbits

The phrase 'faith without works' does not mean that we are saved by our works. It means that if we are truly new creatures in Christ Jesus, through being washed in the Blood of the Lamb, then people will notice this change in our lives through the good works that we perform for the Lord. Good works never saved anyone in the Bible. While they may contribute to our Eternal Rewards, as the WordWeaver points out in 'Parable Of The Sower: Salvation And Service', they do not contribute to our Salvation. Salvation is a FREE Gift bought for us through Jesus' Blood. A gift is not really a gift if you have to work for it. Jesus already paid the full ransom price for us. As Paul wrote, and this is VERY clear: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8,9, KJV Notice that he says 'and that not of yourselves. It is a gift...'. Paul also wrote: "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;" Titus 3:5, KJV Despite these clear Biblical truths, there are many Christians today who are still trying to help God save them through their good works; as if the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ was not enough. As Paul said, if the observance of the Law, or doing good works, can save us, then Christ died in vain: "I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain." Galatians 2:21, KJV Now, do you believe God's straight Word, or the lies and false doctrines of organized religion? It's your choice.
