Endtime Prophecy Net - Bible Tidbits

No one can deny that the first Disciples were flesh Jews. As Jesus said to the woman at the well: "...for salvation is of the Jews." John 4:22b, KJV The word "of" is from the Greek word "ek", which means out of, from, or by. In other words, Jesus was indicating that the Jews would be used to first preach the Gospel of Salvation to the world. The Lord later expanded the vision of Peter and Paul, and they understood that Salvation is not just for the Jew, but that it is for the Gentile as well. Thus, Paul later wrote: "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." Galatians 3:28, KJV Just because God chose to use the First Century Jews to spread the Gospel, does not give any Jew reason to boast, or to gloat, or to feel superior to others; after all, God could have chosen any race in order to accomplish His Divine Purposes; and as it is written: "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23, KJV We all need Jesus; Jew and Gentile alike. So let's be thankful that those First Century Jews obeyed the Lord's call, but please be wary of any Jew who tries to use this fact in a self-righteous manner. After all, to their shame, millions of Jews continue to reject Christ today, even though He came to them first 2,000 years ago. See John 1:11.
