Endtime Prophecy Net - Bible Tidbits

There are many John's mentioned in the Bible, however, the Apostle John is the one who is most familiar to the vast majority of people. The Bible indicates that John was particularly close to Jesus, and that he also may have out-lived all of the other Twelve Apostles as well, dying at an advanced age, after being exiled to the Aegean isle of Patmos, were he received the Apocalypse, or Book or Revelation. For these two reasons, he is sometimes referred to as 'John the Beloved' and 'John the Revelator': "Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved." John 13:23, KJV "I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ." Revelation 1:9, KJV
