Bandit Seems to Be Suffering From Haw Syndrome

About two days ago I noticed that something seemed to be wrong with both of Bandit's eyes. Both of her third eyelids -- which are also known as haws or nictitating membranes -- are not retracting as they should; rather, they are extended outward so that they cover the inner corners of her eyes. Socks, Smokey and Bandit Spayed and Neutered -- Pros and Cons

Today was a very big day for Socks the Cat and her two kittens -- Smokey and Bandit -- who turned five months old two days ago. With the assistance of my friend and fellow cat lover, Pam Eastlick -- who is the director of the UOG Planetarium -- at around 8:30 AM I took all three cats downtown to Harper Veterinary Hospital in order to be spayed and neutered. Socks the Cat and Bandit the Kitten -- Latest Picture

This is a picture of Socks the Cat, and Bandit her kitten, which I just couldn't pass up. I had been in the kitchen making myself a nice cup of hot Lipton's tea following brunch, which is my usual habit after eating every meal. I usually let the tea bag steep for at least five minutes so that I get a good, rich flavor, all of the caffeine that one can possibly squeeze out of one tea bag, plus all of those wonderful flavonoids which they say are so good for us. Latest Pictures of Smokey the Kitten

Well, Smokey woke up from his nap, and as promised, I remembered to snap some new pictures of him about half an hour ago. As with his sister Bandit, these pictures were taken as he layed on the kitchen window shelf. Smokey is seven weeks and six days old here. The background is very bright because of the light coming in from the kitchen window behind Smokey. Continue reading →
