Cat's Dresser Drama -- Further Adventures of Socks, Smokey and Bandit

Well, it has been over three months since I last shared some pictures of my cats, so here's the story. I went out to the kitchen to fix a cup of tea when I discovered a surprise in the living room. We had placed a dresser near the front door with the intent of selling it. Being as it had been sitting there for a few days, my three cats -- Momma Socks, Smokey and Bandit -- decided that it made the perfect resting place and perch. He Giveth Power to the Faint

As many of my readers will already know -- please see my Facebook albums -- I have three cats named Socks, Smokey and Bandit. As with keeping any animal, maintaining my beloved pets is something which I take seriously. That means that about once a month I have to walk to the store to purchase cat food and cat litter. We don't have private transportation, but thankfully, the grocery store is right across the street from us a few hundred feet away. Continue reading →

Bandit Seems to Be Suffering From Haw Syndrome

About two days ago I noticed that something seemed to be wrong with both of Bandit's eyes. Both of her third eyelids -- which are also known as haws or nictitating membranes -- are not retracting as they should; rather, they are extended outward so that they cover the inner corners of her eyes. Socks, Smokey and Bandit Spayed and Neutered -- Pros and Cons

Today was a very big day for Socks the Cat and her two kittens -- Smokey and Bandit -- who turned five months old two days ago. With the assistance of my friend and fellow cat lover, Pam Eastlick -- who is the director of the UOG Planetarium -- at around 8:30 AM I took all three cats downtown to Harper Veterinary Hospital in order to be spayed and neutered.
