Is Osama bin Laden Really Dead and Buried at Sea?

I'll be right up front with you. I honestly do not know, and neither do you. I have read a number of the news releases over the past two days, and quite frankly, I am simply not convinced. Just because the news media says that it is so, does not mean that it is really so. In fact, even though President Obama himself officially announced the death of Osama bin Laden, I still remain unconvinced.

While I can understand the nod to Muslim sensitivities -- according to Muslim tradition, the deceased must be buried within twenty-four hours -- when I first read that Osama bin Laden had been shot in the head in an immense compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, and that his body had then been disposed of in the North Arabian Sea, my jaw just about dropped to the floor.

What? No evidence for the world to see? Truly odd! The needle on my conspiracy theory meter jumped all the way to the far right into the red zone!

Considering everything that Osama bin Laden allegedly planned, did, or inspired others to do in the way of extreme violence, one would think that the world would demand clear, physical, unquestionable evidence of his demise. Certainly the US Government realizes this; yet there will be no evidence, other than the US Government's claims, and the claims of the mass media.

Call me crazy, or just an extreme skeptic, but it seems to me that if there was any chance of capturing Osama bin Laden alive, the American Navy Seals  and the CIA operatives who were commissioned to do the job would have certainly found a way to achieve this objective, in order to bring Osama bin Laden to justice in the United States. Taking this action would certainly give a lot more people some degree of closure, I would think. It would have allowed a lot of people to finally let go of their hostility, and the bitterness which has poisoned their lives.

In short, it is very hard for me to believe that the CIA and the Navy Seals would just kill Osama bin Laden in his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, and then dump his body into the Arabian Sea. Furthermore, as I noted earlier, the Muslims have very specific burial rites, and I don't think that it includes dumping a body into the sea. Regardless of what some of them think of Osama bin Laden, as Muslims, I still think that they would find this action offensive and very disrespectful.

Let's be honest here. If Osama bin Laden was killed, whether his body was dumped into the Arabian Sea, or brought back to the United States as proof of "mission accomplished", either way, it is still going to result in some kind of retaliatory actions being taken by al-Qaeda and their operatives sooner or later. It may take days, weeks, months or years, but it is bound to happen. In other words, I honestly do not believe that being sensitive to Muslim burial rites would make any difference. Just the fact that Osama bin Laden has allegedly been killed will be sufficient motivation to inspire revenge attacks by Muslim extremists, in my view. A disregard for Muslim burial rites may possibly contribute to that, but by how much?

So, being the conspiracy theorist that I tend to be at times, I have entertained a few possibilities at this time. First, assuming that it is true that Osama bin Laden was cornered in his compound at Abbottabad, Pakistan, is it possible that they so mutilated his body -- due to weapons fire, or worse -- that they had no choice but to quickly dispose of it, instead of taking it back to the United States?

And here is the really big one . . .

Anyone who understands these things will realize that Osama bin Laden could be a much more valuable intelligence asset alive, rather than dead. Just think of what the United States Government could learn about al-Qaeda -- and similar Muslim extremist organizations -- by interrogating Osama bin Laden. In fact, he could lead them to other al-Qaeda leaders and operatives, such as al-Qaeda's second-in-command, Ayman al-Zawahiri. In light of this fact, killing bin Laden would seem like a very major blunder, in my opinion. That is why I personally believe that the American Navy Seals and the CIA would take every precaution to try to capture Osama bin Laden alive.

So -- yes, it is time to theorize now; I don't want to disappoint you -- is it possible that Osama bin Laden has actually been captured alive, and that he has been secreted away to some remote location where he will be tortured and interrogated, beyond the eyes of the world and the American public?

It certainly doesn't seem so far-fetched to me in light of George W. Bush's fondness for so-called extraordinary rendition and foreign torture labs where American laws have no legal reach.

Another question: Why now?

I can think of two reasons. First, President Obama wants to scale back operations in Afghanistan, just as he has been doing in Iraq; although to be honest, I believe that a large degree of deception has been used against the American public. In other words, I sense that if we clear away all of the smoke and mirrors, as well as the political and military jargon, we will realize that a lot more military personnel will be remaining in both Iraq and Afghanistan, than we have been led to believe. At any rate, with the announcement of Osama bin Laden's alleged death, the United States Government can now convince the American public that there is even more of a reason to pull out of Afghanistan and Pakistan.

And then there is the upcoming presidential election. Don't think for a minute that President Obama hasn't considered this factor. The man is no doubt walking around with the symbolic feather in his cap, to the fury of George W. Bush and the Republicans who were never able to get Osama bin Laden "dead or alive". The Republicans may be congratulating Obama publicly, as is demanded by political correctness, but underneath, who knows what the real sentiments may be, being as he achieved, where they failed for so many years.

There is a final point that I would like to mention which further explains why I am so incredulous regarding the announcement of the death of Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad, Pakistan. Not only did my jaw drop when I read that American operatives allegedly disposed of his body in the Arabian Sea, but when I learned that this compound -- which clearly stood out from other buildings in the area due to its huge size and extensive layout which was specifically designed for personal security -- was located only a third of a mile from a Pakistani military installation, I couldn't believe what I was reading. According to news reports, Abbottabad is a wealthy hamlet that is located only thirty five miles from the Pakistani capital of Islamabad.

What? Osama bin Laden was right under their noses all this time, and they didn't even know it? Give me a break! I think that there is a lot of intentional deception going around right now. I suspect that either the Pakistani government, the Pakistani military, or the Pakistani intelligence service -- the Inter-Services Intelligence -- has been protecting Osama bin Laden this entire time, and I know that I am not alone in this assessment.

So is Osama bin Laden really dead? I don't know. Maybe he is, and maybe he isn't. Was Osama bin Laden really buried at sea? Again, maybe he was, and maybe he wasn't. Who knows? I don't, and neither do you; unless you believe everything that the mass media tells you, and what your government tells you. I don't. For all we know, this announcement by the United States Government could be a farce on a grand scale. On the other hand, maybe it isn't. We will never be told the full truth.

That is the way of governments of the world. We -- the common citizens -- are treated on a need-to-know basis, and there are a lot of things that secular governments believe that their people simply do not need to know, and should not find out. Thank God that we Christians have a Government in Heaven which operates according to more righteous principles.

And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh."

Hamas-Fatah Unity: The Cracks Are Already Beginning To Show

Barely a day has gone by, and already serious cracks are beginning to show in Palestinian plans to create an interim unity government in which both Hamas and Fatah will participate. The glaring differences of opinion and point of view become quite obvious when we consider quotes -- such as the following -- from various Palestinian and Israeli leaders:

Mahmoud Abbas, Palestinian Authority President:

"The new government and peace talks are two different things . . ."

Taher al-Nounou, a Hamas spokesman:

"There are no negotiations now, so let's not speak about illusions that may or may not happen . . . The Israeli government has nothing to offer to the Palestinians. It even refused to freeze settlements."

Mahmoud Zahar, a Hamas leader:

"Our program does not include negotiations with Israel or recognizing it. It will not be possible for the interim national government to participate or bet on or work on the peace process with Israel."

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister:

"The PA must choose either peace with Israel or peace with Hamas. There is no possibility for peace with both."

Ehud Barak, Israeli Defense Minister:

"Hamas is a murderous terrorist organization that fires rockets at citizens and recently fired an antitank missile at a school bus. It is an organization with which we have nothing to discuss, and therefore we have nothing to talk about with it."

It becomes obvious then, that not only do the Palestinian and the Israeli leadership not see eye-to-eye -- there is no surprise there -- but even the Palestinian leaders themselves are not in agreement when it comes to negotiations with Israel. Palestinian National Authority President, Mahmoud Abbas claims that he alone will still possess the authority to engage in peace talks with Israel -- What peace talks? They're already dead -- while Hamas insists that the proposed interim unity government will have absolutely nothing to do with peace negotiations.

Clearly, a very bumpy road lies ahead, and the Israeli leadership must be rubbing its hands with glee as it watches Mahmoud Abbas and Ismail Haniyeh dance for dominance in the interim unity government.

Hamas and Fatah Move Closer To Forming Interim National Unity Government

In my three-part series entitled Palestinian Quest For Statehood And UN Resolution 377 -- which I released just three weeks ago -- I made the following comments:

. . . So how might the Jews attempt to achieve this objective of confounding Palestinian statehood intentions at the United Nations?

In my opinion, it would be by exploiting the Palestinians' biggest vulnerability, and that is the current division that exists between Fatah in the West Bank and Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Mahmoud Abbas -- the Palestinian Authority president -- and Ismail Haniyeh -- the disputed Prime Minister of the Palestinian National Authority who now heads Hamas in the Gaza Strip -- no doubt recognize this danger; and I suspect that this may be why they have recently made attempts to be reconciled in a national unity government, even though it will come at a very high price for Abbas, insofar as Israel is concerned. In other words, Netanyahu's government has already informed Abbas that he must make a choice. Either he chooses Hamas, or he chooses negotiations with Israel.

Assuming that Abbas continues to work towards some degree of unity with Hamas, not only will a unified government further convince the United Nations that the Palestinians are ready for statehood, and membership in the UN, but it will also help to insulate the Palestinians against any machinations that the Israelis may devise against them.

While I honestly don't know what is going on between Mahmoud Abbas and Ismail Haneya at this current time, the impression I get is that perhaps Haneya is willing to give Abbas a final chance to prove that his approach -- that is, navigating the diplomatic channels of the world and the United Nations -- is the right way to achieve their objectives. If Mahmoud Abbas fails this time, my sense is that not only will he probably abandon any further attempts at arriving at peace with the Israelis, but Ismail Haneya will become even more convinced that his way is the right way, and that violent warfare is the only means to achieve Palestinian objectives.

As you may have heard, it was just announced from Cairo, Egypt that Hamas and Fatah have in fact now taken solid steps to form an interim unity government. Given the rough relationship which has existed between the two entities, it is difficult to say whether or not this endeavor at unity will succeed.

As was to be expected, the government of Israel immediately condemned Palestinian attempts at unity between Fatah and Hamas, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated his government's position that Mahmoud Abbas -- the president of the Palestinian National Authority -- must choose between making peace with Israel, and embracing Hamas in a unity government.

As I believe I noted in the aforementioned series, in my view, Benjamin Netanyahu has done too little, too late, and now he may be left on the sidelines due to Israeli procrastination, and obstinacy in continuing with settlement expansion, contrary to world opinion. In fact, this belligerence may symbolically represent Netanyahu placing the noose around his own neck in a political sense. Time will certainly tell.

It will now be interesting to see what kind of political dance and public relations dance Mahmoud Abbas and Ismail Haneya do together as September approaches, and they prepare to make their bid to the United Nations for recognition of Palestinian statehood, and Palestinian membership in that world body.

KJV - King James Version - Bible Verse List - God Controls Hearts

"But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart."
1 Samuel 16:7, KJV

"The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will."
Proverbs 21:1, KJV

"And he hardened Pharaoh's heart, that he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said."
Exodus 7:13, KJV

"But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go . . . But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let them go."
Exodus 10:20, 27, KJV

"And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh: and the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go out of his land."
Exodus 11:10, KJV

"For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth. Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?"
Romans 9:17-24, KJV

Courts Favor Lesbian Over Christian Biological Mother

I was just reading an article in the New York Times entitled "Pastor Is Accused of Helping to Kidnap Girl at Center of Lesbian Custody Fight". It concerns a former lesbian "civil union" in which a daughter was born via artificial insemination. The "couple" eventually split up, and the biological mother was given primary legal custody of the child, with the other woman having visiting rights.

However, what happened next is where the story really becomes complicated. The mother came to Christ and forsook her lesbian lifestyle. Furthermore, she refused to allow her former "mate" to see the girl, because she was concerned about the ungodly negative influence that her former lesbian lover might have on the girl. Eventually, with help from some conservative Christians, the mother and daughter allegedly fled to Nicaragua, after the courts reversed the order, and gave the other lesbian woman primary custody of the girl.

In short, the courts are now siding with an unrepentant lesbian, instead of with the girl's former-lesbian, biological mother, who has embraced the Christian faith, and forsaken her former sinful ways.

Do we need any more clearer proof that the courts are slowly being dominated by a liberal spirit?

I suspect that -- assuming there is enough time -- within one more generation, the USA -- as with most of the world -- will be totally liberal in nature, because it will be run by our increasingly liberal children.

How much longer will God put up with this foolishness?

Dead to the Law -- A New Perspective

A short while ago I was in an online conversation with another Christian friend who has a page on Facebook. She mentioned to me how some of her Christian friends view her as being legalistic, because she believes that even though we accept Christ, we are still bound by the mandates of the Mosaic Law, while on the other hand -- according to what she wrote to me -- her friends believe that we are no longer bound by the same.

While I amply discuss this subject in a number of my articles on the Endtime Prophecy Net website, I felt that it would be good to share a brief refresher course here concerning this pivotal issue regarding our Christian faith.

As I told my friend, a number of decades ago, when I was under the strong influence of a particular organization -- which I now view as a cult -- I likewise fell under the "dead-to-the-law" delusion for a time.

However, in the years since that time, as I have delved deeper into the Word of God on my own, being led by nothing but the Holy Spirit, and following my longtime practice of comparing Scripture with Scripture, I have gained a new perspective concerning this important issue.

Very briefly, my current understanding regarding the Grace vs Law issue is this:

If we believe that the Bible does not contradict itself, and that God is not the author of confusion, then we must conclude that when the Apostle Paul writes that we are "dead to the Law" -- please see Romans 7:4 for example -- he does not actually mean that we will no longer be held accountable for any actions that we may commit which are contrary to the Law -- particularly if we haven't received Christ in our lives.

But the question is this: Which Law is Paul talking about? Is he talking about the entire Mosaic Law?

A close examination of Paul's Epistles will reveal that he is not.

If we examine what Jesus taught us in the Gospels, as well as what Paul wrote in his Epistles, we come to understand that what Paul was more than likely saying is that we are in fact dead to the sacrificial laws, as well as to the ceremonial laws, but not to the moral laws. This is in fact the very same thing that Jesus taught. The Lord constantly exposed the Scribes and the Pharisees because of their legalistic adherence to their ceremonial traditions, while they ignored love, mercy and compassion. As we also know, they also grew filthy rich through the merchandizing of sacrificial animals.

My friend wrote to me that her understanding is that the purpose of the Mosaic Law is to reveal to us that we are sinners who are in need of a Savior. She is absolutely correct. As the Apostle Paul tells us, the Law was our schoolmaster which brought us to Christ. The Mosaic Law reveals to us our hopeless, sinful condition, and points us to Jesus. As Paul tells us, it is through the Law that we become aware of sin, as we see here:

"What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet."
Romans 7:7, KJV

So it is my current belief that the Moral Laws which Moses received from God on Mount Horeb -- or Sinai -- are just as good, just as strong, just as much in effect, and just as enforceable as they were thousands of years ago.

But insofar as the Sacrificial Laws are concerned, they are now moot and void; because as we are told in the Epistle to the Hebrews, we have a new High Priest, who has established a New Covenant with us, which is based upon His own one-time Sacrifice on the Cross, and His Blood which was spilled for the remission of our sins. Again, I discuss all of these points in considerable detail in my articles.

I believe that the same holds true for the Ceremonial Laws as well, such as observing certain holy days and feasts. They are moot and void, and we are no longer bound by them. In fact, as I explain in my articles, the time arrived when God simply became disgusted with the Jewish observance of so many holy days and feast days, and their outward display of self-assigned "holiness", while their hearts were -- and still remain -- very far from Him. Observing such feasts without accepting Christ is simply hypocrisy, and nothing less. God wants us to honor Him by accepting the Sacrifice of His dear Son.

Even the Apostle Paul grew tired of dealing with this holier-than-thou attitude of his fellow Jews who argued about which feast days had to be observed. Those legalistic snakes and vipers even tried to pressure the new Christian Disciples into doing the same. Thus Paul wrote in Romans 14:5:

"One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind."
Romans 14:5, KJV

So again, there is still strength in the moral aspects of the Mosaic Law. As Jesus said ". . . Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."
Matthew 5:18, KJV

Obviously, while a major part of God's Redemption Plan has already been fulfilled with Christ's Death on the Cross -- and His subsequent Resurrection -- all has not been fulfilled yet . . . unless, of course, you currently believe that we are living on the New Earth with New Heavens.

So, while we are no longer under the Law -- insofar as our Salvation is concerned, because animal sacrifices obviously cannot save us or cleanse us from our sins -- but under Grace, nevertheless, it is my personal belief that we will still be held accountable if we break the mandates of the Moral Law, such as "Thou shalt not kill" . . . or do you "dead-to-the-law" Christians believe that God will turn a blind eye if you kill someone, or steal from them, or have an affair with someone else's wife, or engage in homosexuality?

Can you now see that your "dead-to-the-law" interpretation is a bit flawed?

If what you currently believe is true -- that is, that we are dead to the entire Mosaic Law -- then everyone would be in Heaven; but Jesus and the Book of Revelation both make it rather clear that "wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat". The Book of Revelation makes it quite clear that there are certain people who will most definitely not be allowed to enter the Heavenly City, such as murderers for example.

Let me leave you with the following verses:

"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."
Revelation 21:8, KJV

"For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie."
Revelation 22:15, KJV

If we are not bound by the moral aspects of the Mosaic Law, then how do you explain the previous verses???

KJV - King James Version - Bible Verse List - God And His Word Are Our Constant

Please notice some of the firm, reassuring words and phrases that are used in the following verses :

I change not
for ever
the same
no variableness
neither shadow of turning
true from the beginning
endureth for ever
standeth for ever
to all generations
My counsel shall stand
I will do all my pleasure
hath he said, and shall he not do it?
hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
immutability of his counsel
by two immutable things
anchor of the soul
both sure and stedfast

Can there be any doubt then that God and His Word are our constant, and the anchor of our soul?

"For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed."
