Global Warming and the Book of Revelation

Contrary to what certain Republican naysayers claim, Big Business magnates argue, and other ignorant people say, personally, for quite some time now, I have been convinced that climate change and Global Warming are real.

I am convinced of this for two reasons.

The first reason is that I am an eyewitness to the meteorological changes which have already occurred in our immediate area of the world.

As some of you will already know, I live in the tropics. In fact, I live in an area of the world which has received the name of "Typhoon Alley". The word "typhoon" is just another name for a hurricane. It is derived from two Chinese words -- "tai fung" -- which mean "big wind".

When I first moved to this region of the world several decades ago, we were experiencing so many ferocious typhoons, that I finally reached the point where if we would have had one more, I was ready to pack up and leave this place. In fact, by the time the last major typhoon hit us with the force of a category 5 hurricane, some people did have enough of it and did leave.

Well, here is the odd thing. Whereas before we were accustomed to at least a few -- and sometimes up to half a dozen or so -- direct typhoon strikes each year, since 2002 we have not had a single typhoon strike. In ten years, we have experienced absolutely nothing. Anyone who has lived here a long time realizes that something very strange is going on. The Philippines -- which is located to the west of us -- continues to get hit every single year, but we have been spared for ten years now. It is not normal weather at all.

Don't get me wrong. I am extremely thankful for this development. It is no fun being struck by a major typhoon. With the last one in 2002, we were without power for thirty-two days. Some people fared even worse. It was uncomfortably hot and very humid during that month, and we were so glad when the power was finally restored. Our water was sporadic at first as well.

My bedroom was obliterated. Metal storm shutters were ripped off of the windows and blown a block away. It took the landlord five months to replace the glass in both of my bedroom windows due to a severe glass shortage following that typhoon.

Our apartment was flooded, and it took several weeks before the carpet finally dried out. The furniture was attacked by mildew due to the heat and the high humidity. As I said, it was not fun.

There are a few different causes to which we can attribute the current, extended ten-year quiet period:

1. God's mercy and protection
2. Decreased sun spot activity
3. Climate change and global warming

As I said, there are two reasons why I have become convinced that climate change and Global Warming are real. I have already explained the first reason to you. I am an eyewitness to the meteorological changes in our area. Oh, and by the way, a number of years ago, my dad -- who lives in the eastern USA -- informed me that their winters have grown noticeably warmer and shorter as well.

As I have mentioned on previous occasions, the second reason why I am convinced that climate change and Global Warming are real, is because I believe that they may possibly be prophesied in the Book of Revelation. More specifically, consider the following verses:

"And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory."
Revelation 16:8-9, KJV

I address the possible meaning of the previous verses in my five-part series entitled "Destruction of Planet Earth: The Wrath of God Revealed!"

If those verses are in fact describing climate change and Global Warming, then it is evident that the situation will continue to get a lot worse in coming years, as God continues to turn up the heat on the Earth.

If you believe that the Creation Account in the Book of Genesis is meant to be understood in a literal sense -- meaning that God the Father and Jesus created everything in Six Days about six thousand years ago -- then it makes the following report all the more interesting. If we ignore all of the evolutionary nonsense in the article, and just embrace their figure of 4,000 years; and if we consider that the Earth is really only about six thousand years old, what these scientists are really saying, without even realizing it, is that at this present time, the Earth is probably the hottest that it has ever been since God first created it, and it is going to keep getting hotter, until men begin to curse God due to the heat.
